Jenny’s Birthday Project! Thank you! I love you. <3

I was overwhelmed with all the love that I received for my birthday and most of all that I could have my wish granted. As promised is my thank you video at the bottom of this post.

This video is a short video on my birthday.

If you are going to watch this video to the end please be in a comfy position. :P

In the order of the verbalized version if you don't have time:
  • Diana, the words of a strong Indonesian girl who speaks Chinese at a level that far surpasses mine. Your strength and mine combined could take over the world. I’m dead serious. Terima Kasih!
  • Ernesto, you’ve been traveling for almost a year now (and your English is getting better) and your pictures from the Philippines, Cebu at 40m is down is badass! Thank you for wishing me an underwater birthday! Everyone else's was on land! Gracias!
  • Miss wolf, thank you for recording a sleep eyed birthday video for me from Tokyoland. You were the added furikake to my time in Japanland. So let’s have one last bang this March. I miss your busted face.
  • Cheyenne, it has been way tooooo loooong, I miss your face so much! Ha ha the nipple shield. Jesus, you still remember that? I totally danced with you! *hugs* Thank you so much for all the love, I will ring you up the instant I touch base in E-town, though you might have to wait a little while longer before I come back to Canadaland.
  • Danny, your video had me lost for words and most of all pulled at all my heart strings. I wished to say more to you but I can't find the words.
  • Faye, I know we only shared a 15 minute conversation at Summer Sonic in Japan but man your story of winning those tickets from some contest in the UK reminds me that we all can get lucky sometimes. Like me meeting you ladies. <3
  • Coke, Viking style is the only style. You are the best person I have ever worked with. It is time to go to a music festival and show them how vikings do it.
  • Anthony, it is so hard to take you seriously!!! I know you are saying all these lovely things but that voice… dude hanging out with you for three days was dope! SELFIE! #Formosa101!!! I knew it as soon as you walked in the door and I couldn't stop giving you hard time. Bros for life. I’ll see your Asian face in Scotland. Cheers!
  • Jamie (UK), I was thinking that you were going to record me something by Alan Partridge with that full on Scottish accent you rock. Nvm, I am sure I’ll get some more when I see you in London. =^.^= Ta!
  • Asia, there is a lot I can write here but thank you for always supporting me and being there for me when we were in a rut. Times weren't easy in Japan but it didn't kill us, it made us stronger than ever. This duo needs to reunite. I love you.
  • Adam, it was lovely to hear your voice and hear about your life. It makes me want to have a real time conversations with you where we can talk about all the aspects of the universe. Miss you so and I wish that I was in Chang Mai with you.
  • Jamie (Aus), thanks for sending me something in the end after I gave you a hard time. Thanks mate for the Australia day celebrations. Toodle Loo.
  • De Wet, you were suppose to send me a picture of your face not a silly screen shot and a broken gif. Thanks for participating.
  • Elizabeth, thanks for the audio clip from the yamanote line but I didn't hear your voice at all. I'll have to see you in Tokyo then.
  • Ben, first I have to say that you are getting really good at selfies! Second, I think you like making them more than you think. (I might have to buy you a selfie stick) Third, my birthday wish is for pancakes when I get there. Danke!
  • Cindy, this is not a picture of you but he does have dango….so I forgive you. I will see you in Berlin soon and we can practice speaking Japanese to each other because that is what the cool kids do. Also, contemplate life some more. Matta Ne!
  • George, love the music! It really adds to the tone of the video, can you believe we met 4 years ago in Jilin, China? A lot has happened, we got to catch up one day, get on that bike and come say hi!
  • Lyo, this picture of you and your daughters is perfect. If it wasn't for you I would have never found my love for Taiwan. So I have YOU to thank, for this part of my journey. Let’s share many more meals together and talk about family life. 谢谢
  • Christina, why am I not surprised that you would send me a picture of you eating food. We bonded over many glorious meals together in Taipei and one day in the future we will share many more! Let’s do it Asian stylez in Aus. Thanks for the Cantonese audio clip, feels like home.
  • Chris, I miss making funny faces with you in all our photos. I miss watching you spin poi, belt out songs, dance and pummel me at bowling. I really should have taken advantage of the time I had in Edmonton and spent more time with you. *bear hugs*
  • Casey, A man of many words. Thank you for your message, must have been difficult to write that script. We went through hell, and beyond and back, literally. Luckily for us we survived and most of all gained a friendship that cannot be compared. Don’t stop being fab, thanks for all the headspace.
  • Markus, damn it, must learn German. Thanks for hanging around Formosa an extra for me I’m still in bed being lazy. Danke!
  • Carl, I know you don’t like being on camera but know that I appreciate it. A lot. Let’s meet in Cardiff, Wales if you can make it this summer because we have some unfinished business.  This will make it country #4  Jag saknar dig.
  • Isak, the distortion on your face is scary since you look nothing like that! See you in Sweden? You can teach me more about Swedish Christmas since that is all I can associate you to now. Tack!

  • Yolante, it has been waaaay tooo long since we last spoke, let alone seen each other. China was it? It is wonderful that you are still traveling and one day I will visit you in Australia for sure.
  • Teagun, your message to me was vulnerable, inspiring and most of it touched my heart in a way that I didn't think that could be in words alone. You are someone very special and I knew it from the moment I met you. Stay in touch and share an event where spray cans are involved.
  • Jeremy, it is so lovely to have a like minded individual so close to home. If I ever need a dose of Canadian, I know who to call! Thank you for everything and I am sure we will make a lot interesting memories together.

My birthday wish

This coming 27th will be my 5th birthday away from home. I can't believe it's been 5 years!!!

What I want more than anything else in the world is to spend it with my friends. Due to my vagabond ways the geographical circumstances, I will never be able to achieve this dream. People I have met along the way move around the earth on their own journey and most of all they are scattered through out this pane of existence.

So,ask a favor of you.

My dear friends,

I have made a public drop box folder where I make a small request.... that I can see, hear or have something from you.

So on my birthday I can wake up and be with everyone I love. Whether you are from home, a country I once lived in or someone I met in passing for only a brief moment.

A photo?
An audio clip?
A video?
A song?
Anything is okay.

I just want to be with you and I hope that on my birthday that you will be there with me too.

I love you all, no matter how many words I write down here I cannot express my feelings. So please watch the video I made you.

*****Due to the lack of premium membership it looks like I would have to invite you via email (direct message me) to upload the file. Or you can send them to me via Facebook or email direct and I can upload them for you :)*****

DROPBOX LINK!!! <---just for viewing :P

Working Holiday Visa for Germany 2015

Usually at the beginning of the year I write a blog post about the previous year and all that I am thankful for. This year I think I am going to tell you about what my future entails instead. (plus if you have been following along you already have an idea of the events that I am grateful for.)
Jenny wants to go to Europe.
Anyone who has talked to me in the past couple of months knows that this is my goal for 2015, this whole idea came to life when I was traveling in Taiwan the first time in October last year. After talking to so many travelers I became entranced with the infamous 'Euro-trip' (Come'on you've seen the 90s movie!') How can I not? I have always wanted to and when it came down to the deciding factor a guy asked me, ''Why don't you do it now?'' I was thinking can I do it right now or soon? Well, I had to handle my finances and settle my life in Tokyo then I would have to figure out the minor details. But heck, what am I waiting for?!

So there you have it, spring 2015! Jenny goes to Europe!! Waaaaaaaaaaa? No seriously.

I want to travel through Europe visiting as many countries and friends along the way, as a Canadian I came across the problem that I must leave for 90 days before I can return. (180 days out of a year) So I thought to myself how can I solve this problem. A work visa in an European country!! That means that I would have a year in Europe and the possibility to work when I run out of money.

As I looked into it, a working holiday or should I say (link) Youth Mobility in Germany is available for Canadians until the age of 35. As you can see from the previous post I made about visas for Canadians. I very funnily sent out an email in regards to more information on the application process and emailed the Switzerland office and found out that I am very eligible for a work visa there. :P (Sweden too, since I looked into a bit more extensively last year).

Here we have it, I am going through the steps to get my paperwork in order today and hopefully come spring I will be moving to Europe for a backpacking adventure before settling down in Berlin.

Thanks for reading, stay tuned, Same bat time, same bat channel. More information.

The Four Beasts (Mostly Photos)

The sunset is amazing up here I always recommend it to everyone! This Monday's sunset was exceptional.
I am a huge fan of crossing the yellow 'Do not Cross Tape' Strangely enough it was only crossed off on the one side and not the other.
Quite a ways up we found these giant kanjis carved into the huge rocks. If you are on the stairs going up you won't see these. Off the beaten tracks my dear friend.
Panoramas here will be the new screen saver I think...(all my screen savers recently have all been from the top of really high places)
OMG love the mountains, stop looking at Taipei 101 for a second and just turn around will ya?
Love climbing up a side of a mountain via ropes anything beats walking up stairs or a steep incline for what feels like hours.
I wish you could be there standing on the victory rock with me :)
Well here is the view!
This sunset really impressed me.
Don't look back for camera shots, keep climbing :P
