Day trip to Borobudur & Prambanan

4am start. Dragging our feet a little we were ushered to the mini bus of 8. Not before we were told that we have to pay entrance fee for the temples today. (We decided to see two instead of one as well)

The lady at the hostel told us that there is a combined ticket which is cheaper than paying full price at both. Our driver told us that they had already paid this price and only we will get the combined ticket price on top of having a student card the cost would be slashed in half. (bring your student card everywhere if you have one)

5am stop. We were awakened by lights in the bus and told to pay 30,000 rupiah, if you're a local you would only have to pay half of that. A short hike up accompanied by the chirps of the cicadas to see the sunset. The overcast didn't help to make much of it.
6am, back on the bus. 10 minutes later we were at our breakfast stop, toast, instant coffee and a small fruit salad.

Time for our wander around Brobradur temple grounds(something like 58 hectares) We were treated with a free beverage upon entry and it was time to climb 240 steps to the top.

8:30am I can't believe it is so early!! Back on the bus for part 2 of the day.

10am we made it to the last stop Prambanan, which used to have 250 temples surrounding the main one. It is now a unesco sight due to a 5.9 earthquake bringing down a majority of them to ruins. (why didn't they stop the movie interstellar in Tokyo when there was a 6.2??)

I was a little choked to find out that the ticket costs totallied out to $37. Since that equates to 3 nights stay and about 15 meals in Indonesia. I think mount bromo will be quite pricey as well.

12pm back on the bus...I need some serious sleep preferably horizontally in a bed with a comfy blanket a bit of A/C.
