From a random conversation following a missed trip to the rockies due to work, I got advice from Chris to check out backside tours.
(Also, another side note about writing something about Canada. So this is what you're going to get...unless you want hear about my odd adventures in E-town,they are better experienced than not anyways)
We left Edmonton at 2:30 pm from The Home Depot parking lot. Of course there are always late stragglers. In about 20 minutes from departure people were pounding back beers and chugging back Hennessey and Captain Morgan's. The music was loud and the speakers were blown out creating huge static reverb. As painful as this was I was able to turn my brain off and sleep for a little bit, an experienced traveler skill?
At 11pm we arrived at our hotel with lift passes in hand. Sadly, I was not informed of the shortage of real beds and were splitting a room with two girls freshly out of university. From there I didn't want to fight the bed and slept on the pullout sofa. I've slept in worse locations but they were free...
It was foggy and the hotel only provided us with one restaurant so off we went for a breakfast that would take far too long. Since working in the restaurant industry once again I don't mind being a little more patient.
The weather was super nice and times were rolling, up on the hill we went.

The snow is pretty deep !!! |
Right outside of our hotel was a lift and some mini carpets for learners. I almost felt like it was a waste if the whole time at the mountains you were in the "training zone". Either way this was my 5th time out and off we went up onto the top of the mountain.
I want to inform everyone that the snow was powdery white, fluffy and the tops of the mountains were hidden from view by fog. Maybe we will see them tomorrow?
Today was a serious feat because I had fallen down really hard and I almost gave up. I smashed my head ultra hard and most of all my ego was beyond defeat. There was only one way out and that way was down.
Finally making a last attempt it was time to hit up the outdoor hot tub.
The second day was much better than the first day, since the previous day was so painful. We made it back home at about 11pm on the Sunday....al in all Kimberly was a win :)
